Virtual, Interactive Blind Tasting

We're happy to announce that on Sunday, January 24th, we will be doing a virtual blind tasting where attendees can blind taste some or all of the same wines as the rest of the group. This event will be done via Zoom, beginning at 2pm and wrapping up around 3:30.

This session will be led by Douglas Schulman, who will be blind tasting all 3 wines along with the group. It will run similarly to our in-person blind tastings (remember those?), where attendees will take turns evaluating either the appearance and nose, palate, or doing an initial and possibly final conclusion. You do not need to purchase the wines to attend. It can still be helpful to consider what the wines might be based on other people's evaluations. We might even ask someone who is not tasting a given wine to try giving an initial conclusion.

Attendees who do wish to purchase 1, 2, or all 3 of the wines, may do so through Common Vines wine shop in Boston. Jen Scott, co-owner of Common Vines and Taste Wine Bar, has selected 1 white and 2 red wines that will be sold in numbered bags so people can taste along without knowing what the wines are. Please do not look at the wines' identities before the event as our preconceptions can heavily influence our perceptions. Jen has been nice enough to offer our group a 20% discount on these purchases. After discount, 1 white wine is $14.40, 1 red wine is $28, and the pack of all 3 wines is $70.40. There are also options to purchase 2 bottles, either 1 white and 1 red or both reds. All options are on the Common Vines website here. You may arrange for curbside pickup. Delivery options are for purchases of all 3 bottles only ($70 minimum), priced as follows: local delivery (5mi) is free, up to 10 mi is $10 delivery fee and up to 15 mi is $20 delivery fee.

Please make purchases as soon as you can so there's plenty of time to get your wine and in case Jen needs to order more of anything.

To sign up for the event, you can email Douglas at douglas.d.schulman@gmail.com, and he will send you a Zoom link.
